The UPLC is able to operate at higher pressures than an HPLC, which allows the use of smaller column particles and lower flow rates. It typically results in better resolution and shorter run times than HPLC. The diode array detector is able to monitor multiple wavelengths in the UV-VIS spectrum, from 190-700 nm.
