It has both PTV and PWOC injectors and two detectors: flame ionization detector (FID) and thermal conductivity detector (TCD). The PTV injector allows for temperature programming of the inlet, while the PWOC injector allows for the use of packed and wide-bore columns. The flame ionization detector is excellent for the analysis of hydrocarbons, while the thermal conductivity detector responds to all compounds. It is typically used for the analysis of permanent gases, such as oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and argon.
